Buddy Bear is no longer

But Embracing Autism is off and running! After receiving word that Buddy Bear's "mum" did not want her bear used for financial gains we were given a little extra push to get things moving...on our own.

So, Embracing Autism has been created. We are an official non-profit organization in the State of NH!

There is lots in the works. I can't even begin to explain how quickly this is all taking shape and how big it has already become.

Our first goal is an autism awareness/family fun day in August. We are also creating a webpage, holding a contest with local artists to create our logo and holding fundraising nights across the state throughout April.

I don't even have words to express how excited I am! I received a sketch of our ideas from the webdesigner today and he is on EXACTLY the same page as we are. It is so good to know that we are working with someone as passionate about his work as we are.

We started discussing long term goals at our last meeting. None of us want this to end. Once our awareness day is over we want to keep going. We are thinking about ensuring that elementary schools have an autism program. Or at least ensuring that each city/town has an autism program in one of their elementary schools. Maybe helping schools get their teachers trained in social skills, ABA, etc. I don't know. There are so many options!

Soon enough I will be posting about our Autism Awareness Day and I would love for each and every one of you to make it!
